ML Lions Club makes charitable donations

The Mt. Lebanon Lions Club has donated a total of $6,000 to various charitable organizations, including the Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh, Lions Club International Foundation, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Pennsylvania Lions Beacon Lodge Camp, Mt. Lebanon, Dormont and Scott Township public libraries, Library for the Blind and the Historical Society of Mt. Lebanon.

Money was raised through the Clubs annual Farmers Market and the successful sale of trash bags and brooms throughout the year.

The Meadows celebrates season of giving

In the spirit of giving, The Meadows Casino has launched a series of charitable events and initiatives to support local children and families during the holiday season.

The community is invited to drop off new, unwrapped toys in designated boxes located throughout The Meadows for its Toys for Tots campaign. The toys will be distributed as Christmas gifts to needy children in the local community.

A week-long employee food drive for the Greater Washington County Food Bank resulted 500 pounds of non-perishable food, which will be distributed to local families. The Meadows also recommitted as a major supporter of the 2,000 Turkeys campaign, providing the Food Bank with a donation of $10,000.

The Treasures for Children program, organized by The Salvation Army, provides Christmas gifts for children throughout the area. Employees adopted tags with names and ages from a Christmas tree in the employee dining room and will place the unwrapped gifts under the tree to be distributed in mid-December.

The annual Presents for Patients, a St. Barnabas Charities Christmas program, celebrates its 31st season, delivering gifts and visiting area nursing home and assisted living patients. The Meadows donated $2,640 based on swipes from Players Club cards.
