At Bethany Lutheran Church, Bethel Park, a Babies & Toddlers Bible Group is held from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Sundays in the Nursery, combining music, stories and activities that will introduce babies through preschoolers to God’s word. The new “Mommy & Me” style program is part of the church’s Sunday school and open to moms and dads. Registration is not required. Parents must stay with their children. At First Bethel United Methodist Church, Bethel Park, a spirited Jazz Service is offered at 6 p.m. on the first Saturday of every month, featuring pianist Haywood Vincent, bassist Phil Silvato and Bethel Park’s own Dale Hertrick on sax. At Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God, Castle Shannon, orders must be placed no later than Dec. 4 for the monthly Soup Take Out fundraiser, which will take place Dec. 10. At South Hills Assembly, Bethel Park, a CommuniTea Christmas Brunch Buffet will be offered 9:30 a.m.-noon Dec. 5 in the Fellowship Hall. The buffet is free, but registration is required at 412-835-8900 ext. 147. You must also register for childcare and bring snacks for your child.
• Women of Excellence … “Victorious Living,” led by Pastor Sue Willis, will meet 6:30-9 p.m. Dec. 8 in the multi-purpose room. The group meets on the second Monday of each month.
• “A Wild, Wild Christmas” Musical, 7 p.m. Dec. 12-14. This full-scale dramatic musical set in a dusty, untamed 1850s mining town tells what it means to get a second chance at life and at God’s love.
• Satelite Youth, 7 p.m. Wednesdays in the Youth Center. Youth-led worship, games and a message by Pastor Robert.

At St. David’s Episcopal Church, Venetia, children will celebrate St. Nicholas Day on Dec. 7 with a service of their own. Stories, songs and arts and crafts will be included.
• Preschool Pageant, 6:30 p.m. Dec. 12. The students of St. David’s Christian Early Learning Center will reenact the Birth of Jesus. The performance will include vocal and bell choir performances. Cookies and refreshments will follow.
At St. Patrick Parish, Canonsburg, reservations are being accepted until Dec. 11 for the Christian Mothers Association’s annual Christmas Banquet on Dec. 7 at Rolling Hills Country Club. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. with dinner following at 2. Keyboard entertainer Gene Testa will entertain after dinner. Valet parking will be available.
