CH wrestling
The 20th annual Chartiers-Houston Invitational Wrestling Tournament will be held Dec. 5-6 at the high school. Action begins at 4:30 p.m. Friday and continues through Saturday when at 4 p.m. the finals will be held.
Peters Township and Butler return to defend their titles in the team competition while five individuals are prepared to retain their championships. The returning champions include local standouts Josh Kuslock from Char-Houston, Philip Mary from Peters Township as well as South Park’s Jake Wentzel and Grag Bulsak. Gage Curry of North Hills and Luke Fournier from Elizabeth-Forward also will compete.
Among the returning runners-up are: AJ Buckiso from Peters, Mark Tharp from CV, Hunter Neely from Bentworth, Connor Foust from Bulter, Nico Brown of Beth-Center and Montour’s Zack Jablonski.
South Fayette and Upper St. Clair will be among the 23 clubs also competing in the event.
Lebo ice skating
Registration for Mt. Lebanon’s learn-to-skate group lessons begins Dec. 13 by phone at 412-561-4363, online at www.mtlebanon.org or at the ice rink.
Fee is $132 for 40-minute classes and skates or $122 for 30-minute sessions. USFS membership is included. Kindergarten students or younger must be evaluated before registering. The eight-week series begins the week of Jan. 10 at the ice center.
Lebo hockey school
Registration for the Mt. Lebanon Hockey School and the developmental league has begun. Applications are accepted between 9 a.m.-7 p.m. daily with the rink cashier in the recreation center. Visit www.mtlebanon.org or call 412-561-4363 to sign up. A $2 fee is added for this method.
Ages 4-12 can participate in the hockey school and learn the skills of the game in a no-pressure, progressive atmosphere. The five-step program begins Jan. 6 and 8.
The developmental league begins Jan. 9. Games are played on the studio rink Friday evenings. Leagues are divided into two for ages 5-8 and 9-12. Full equipment is required.
Fee is $105 per skater.
