Pennsylvania American Water crews will be making improvements to its water systems on Dec. 10 on Potomac Avenue from Banksville Road to Broadway Avenue, which will require temporary disruption of water service to customers in the 1600, 1700, and 2000 blocks of Potomac Avenue in Dormont.

“Water service will be turned off at approximately 8 a.m. and could be interrupted for up to eight hours. Bottled water will be available to impacted customers and will be located in our service vehicles located on Potomac near Banksville Road,” spokeswoman Josephine Posti said.

Potomac Avenue will be closed during this repair between Banksville Road and Broadway Avenue and motorists should plan to take alternate routes.

When service is restored, customers may experience cloudy or discolored water. Pa. American Water officials advise if your water is discolored, wait until it runs clear before using.
