BETHEL PARK

Attempted robbery: Police are looking for at least one suspect in an attempted jewelry store robbery in which the accused brought a “mini sledgehammer.” On Dec. 5 around 6:30 p.m., the man tried walking into Louis Anthony Jewelers, 1775 N. Highland Road, before he was stopped by an employee. Police say they are looking for a group of suspects that left in a dark-colored van that was parked outside the store.

Theft: A business on Transit Boulevard reported scrap metal had been stolen on its premises sometime before Dec. 2, police said.

Attempted auto theft: An employee at Kohl’s Village Square Mall reported on Dec. 2 a vehicle had been entered and the ignition broken, police said.

Attempted auto theft: Police received a report Dec. 2 of a vehicle with a broken window and broken ignition in the parking lot of Macy’s in South Hills Village Mall.

Theft: A resident on Library Road reported Dec. 3 a FedEx package placed out for pickup was missing, police said.

Vehicle theft: A Chrysler mini-van was reported stolen from the South Hills Village Mall parking lot on Dec. 4, police said.

Theft: Officers assisted loss prevention personnel at Bed Bath and Beyond in apprehending Nicole Kozlowski, 20, of Lucille Drive, Pittsburgh, and Chris Young, 46, of Regina Drive, Elizabeth, for allegedly shoplifting items from the store on Dec. 4, police said.

Theft: Tevon Howard, 23, of Pleasant Ridge Road, McKees Rocks, was arrested on Dec. 5 for theft inside Macy’s at South Hills Village Mall, police said.

CANONSBURG

Resisting arrest, destruction of property: A Canonsburg man was arrested by police Dec. 6 after he was kicked out of the American German Association club and started tearing license plates off of cars. Brad Yasek, 28, of 265 Vine St., was asked to leave the club after he started shouting and slurring his speech, police said. Witnesses told police they took a knife from him once he was in the parking lot and called police once he started pulling plates off of cars. Police found a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe on Yasek, for which he was also charged. Yasek was placed in the Washington County Jail on $5,000 bail.

CASTLE SHANNON

Forgery: Bruce Brandy, 57, of Coral Drive, was sent summons Dec. 1 for forging vehicle documents, police said, after he was pulled over in the 3600 block of Library Road.

Disorderly conduct: Jesse Fitzgerald, 33, of Ohio Street, Clairton, was cited for disorderly conduct for a Dec. 2 incident on Sleepy Hollow Road, police said.

Stolen vehicle registration: Thomas Fuchs, 37, of Shadewell Ave., Pittsburgh, was arrested for having a stolen license plate after he was pulled over Dec. 4 in the 3900 block of Library Road, police said.

Drug violations: Amanda Orefice, 25, of Lindenwood Drive, was arrested for drug violations Nov. 26 on Lindenwood Drive.

Theft: Theft of mail was reported Nov. 21 at a residence on Hoodridge Drive, police said.

CECIL

Theft: A 2012 Toyota truck parked in the driveway of a residence on Georgetown Road, Lawrence, was entered on Dec. 3. A DVD player and a box of DVDs were stolen, police said.

Theft: A Chevy Silverado was entered sometime before Nov. 28. Cigarettes and change were stolen from the vehicle parked in a driveway on Mawhinney Road in Cecil, police said.

PETERS TOWNSHIP

Assault: Police on Dec. 3 filed simple assault charges against Linwood Eley II, 35, of S. Hamilton Ave., Greensburg, after a Nov. 17 incident in which he struck a co-worker at a Thompsonville Road site the two were working on, police said.

Theft from motor vehicle: On Dec. 5, it was reported that between Nov. 9-11, Alaskan boots valued at $400 dollars were stolen from a BMW.

Assault: Police responded Dec. 5 to a domestic dispute between a father and son on Druid Drive. Officers found Maxwell Christopher Madler, 22, had struck his father with a baseball bat during an argument. Madler was arrested and faces a preliminary hearing before District Judge James Ellis on Dec. 16.

SCOTT TOWNSHIP

Criminal mischief: Sugar was poured into the gas tank of a vehicle sometime before Dec. 3, police said. It may have occurred in Scott Twp. or in Dormont Borough.

Attempted fraud: Multiple complaints were filed, police said, from individuals receiving calls from people claiming to be from the IRS. Some pinged calls revealed that some scammers are set up in Arizona.

UPPER ST. CLAIR

Retail theft: On Dec. 3 and 4, Sears management reported to police it was filing two separate cases of retail theft in its stores, police said.

Theft: A resident on Norsen Drive reported Dec. 4 that two guests had been staying with him and after they left he noticed 60 Xanax pills were missing along with nearly $50 in cash, police said.

DUI: A one-vehicle crash in the 200 block of Johnson Road led to the arrest of Krystele Lewis, 28, of McMurray, after she failed a field sobriety test, police said.

Commercial mail theft: A UPS package was stolen Dec. 5 as a witness told police an older model silver SUV driven by a tall, bulky white male was parked outside the residence in the 500 block of Harrowgate. The driver then ran from the vehicle to grab the package intended for a 2:48 p.m. delivery at the residence.

Criminal mischief: Four bags of leaves were found on fire along Highoak Court Dec. 8, police said.
