At Brightwood Christian Church, Bethel Park, a Live Nativity will be presented on the front lawn from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 21-23. The Nativity uses costumed members of the congregation, a barn stage and live animals in a fenced in area. A hospitality table with coffee and cookies will be set up in Campbell Hall. At Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, the Annual Chanukah Toy Drive for hospitalized and underprivileged children is underway. Toys can be dropped off at Chabad of the South Hills or at Chabad’s Chanukah Celebration and Menorah Lighting, which will be held 6-8 p.m. Dec. 16 at The Galleria of Mt. At Christ United Methodist Church, Bethel Park, a Festival of Lessons & Carols will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 14, featuring traditional and new carols and Christmas favorites by the Chancel Choir, Wesley Singers (men’s chorus) and Carillon Choir (bell choir).

• Mary, Martha & Me women’s Bible study meets 10 a.m.-noon Wednesdays in room C1-A.

At Community of Christ Church, South Park, a drive thru live nativity will be presented from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 20.

At Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh, Chanukah will be celebrated with the following events:

• First Night of Chanukah Celebration at the Squirrel Hill location, 4:45 p.m. Dec. 16. Meet at the Forbes Avenue entrance where the JCC memorial will be lit. Celebrate with music from the Temple Sinai choir and the Hazamir Jewish High School choir. Enjoy hot chocolate and sufganiyot, the jelly donuts eaten in Israel during Chanukah.

• Candle-lighting and celebrations will be held at 4:45 p.m. Dec. 17-23 in the Palm Court at the JCC in Squirrel Hill.

• Community Chanukah Celebration, 3-5 p.m. Dec. 21 at the Scott Township location. No fee; open to the community. RSVP requested but not required. Call Ann Haalman at 412-278-1975 ext. 204, or email ahaalman@jccpgh.org.

• Lobby candle-lighting, 4:30 p.m. Dec. 16, 17, 18, 22 and 23, and 4 p.m. Dec. 19.

At Old St. Luke’s Church, Scott Township, Christmas Lessons and Carols with the St. John Lutheran Choir will be offered at 4 p.m. Dec. 14. Donation requested. For more information, call 412-489-3795.

At Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, McMurray, Journey to Bethlehem: An Outdoor Living Nativity will take place 6-8 p.m. Dec. 13. Warm up inside with hot chocolate and cookies. The event is free. For more information, call 724-941-7467.

At Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God, Whitehall, the sisters will celebrate their 92nd Christmas as a community by welcoming visitors into their home on Dec. 11 for Christmas on Mt. Providence – a spin-off of the popular History at Twilight tours. Congregational archivist Dennis Wodzinski will guide guests through over 90 years of holiday traditions and captivating history of the Sisters while touring a festively decorated motherhouse and Mary Immaculate Chapel. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the reception area of the Sisters’ motherhouse. Light refreshments with the Sisters will follow the tour. The event is free, but reservations are requested. At South Hills Assembly, Bethel Park, “A Wild, Wild Christmas” musical will be performed at 7 p.m. Dec. 12-14. This full-scale dramatic musical set in a dusty, untamed 1850s mining town tells what it means to get a second chance at life and at God’s love.

• AdventureChurch Service, Dec. 20 at the Tandem Connection, Cecil. Ride, hike or cross-country ski on the Montour Trail afterward. Service begins at 10 a.m. and trail users will leave around 10:45, returning for a $6 lunch special by Roadside Ribs BBQ. Non-guided trip. • Satelite Youth, 7 p.m. Wednesdays in the Youth Center. Youth-led worship, games and a message by Pastor Robert.

At St. David’s Episcopal Church, Venetia, a Preschool Pageant will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 12. The students of St. David’s Christian Early Learning Center will reenact the Birth of Jesus. The performance will include vocal and bell choir performances. Cookies and refreshments will follow.

At St. Valentine Church, Bethel Park, a Santa Breakfast will be held from 8:30-11 a.m. Dec. 13. The full breakfast includes games, prizes, music and more. For tickets and information, call 412-608-2939.

At Trinity United Methodist Church, McMurray, the annual Christmas Celebration Music Services will be held at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Dec. 14, featuring the Celebration Choir under the direction of Robert Agnew. The choir will be joined by the Trinity Jubilee Ringers bell choir under the direction of Kathie Knouse, who will perform several musical pieces.
