Scott commissioners plan to vote on the proposed 2015 budget at the board’s regular meeting, 5 p.m. Dec. 22. The municipality’s 2015 budget projects total revenue at $9,879,032 and total expenses at $12,089,729, with the 2014 carryover ending fund balance of $2,210,700 as the 2015 beginning fund balance.

The board also plans to vote on the 2015 tax levy ordinance. The township’s 2015 millage rate is projected to increase 1 mill to 5.457 mills, with 0.0776 mills designated for the township’s library. If the new millage rate is approved, a half mill will be used for storm water management projects, and the other half mill be used for other capital improvement projects. The one mill increase in taxes is expected to raise approximately $939,000 in revenue.
