For the second time this season, Jordan Holmes of Mt. Lebanon earned the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Player of the Week honor.

On the week, the Denison University post player averaged a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds per contest. Holmes converted 83.3 percent (10-for-12) from the field. Her 6.16 blocks per game leads all of Division III. She had 117 blocked shots in 19 games. Her 14.3 rebounds per contest ranks in the Top-5 nationally.

In addition to owning the conference mark, Holmes is four shy of breaking the NCAA Division III record for blocks in a single-season by a freshman. The current freshman record is 120 blocked shots (23 games) during the 1995 season by Laurie Miller, East Mennonite.

For the season, Holmes is also averaging 9.9 points and manages 2.0 steals for Denison, which is 15-5 overall and 7-4 in the NCAC.

Holmes received a Tyree/Parajon Scholarship to Denison, which is based on academic achievement, leadership and personal merit.

The daughter of Myrna and Cornelius Holmes is a psychology major. The Mt. Lebanon High School graduate helped the girls’ basketball team capture WPIAL and PIAA titles.
