Borough offices have received multiple calls about coyote sightings in the borough and surrounding communities. Coyotes have been in the area for some time. Some tips include: Don’t feed animals that coyotes prey on; birdseed may attract innocent animals to the yard; coyotes try to avoid humans and are frightened by loud noises; keep pets in a fenced-in yard; speak to young children about staying away from coyotes; never leave a small child outside alone; keep pets on a leash; and seal garbage cans.
If you see any coyotes that are behaving in a strange way, call 911 immediately.
