The deadline to nominate and vote for Pennsylvania’s Outstanding Senior Volunteer for its Salute to Senior Service program is March 1. Home Instead, Inc. recognizes the invaluable contributions of adults age 65 and older who give at least 15 hours a month of volunteer service to their favorite causes.
State winners will be determined by popular vote. A panel of senior care experts will then select a national Salute to Senior Service winner from among the state honorees.
Home Instead, Inc. will donate $500 to each of the state winners’ designated and approved nonprofit organizations, and their personal stories will be shared online on the Salute to Senior Service Wall of Fame. In addition, $5,000 will be donated to the national winner’s designated and approved nonprofit charity.

Aging Institute of UPMC Senior Services, University of Pittsburgh and UPMC Health Plan will sponsor Powerful Tools for Careivers, a six-week class starting March 3 and Inspiring New Solutions and Providing Individualized Resources and Education starting April 14 at Mt.
