The Hollywood Theater, Dormont, will offer the following:
• 50 Shades of Swayze, a new series, kicks off at 7 p.m. Feb. 21, featuring a different Patrick Swayze movie monthly. First up is “Dirty Dancing.” It screens again at 9:15 p.m. Feb. 21; 10 p.m. Feb. 22; and 4 p.m. Feb. 23. Dale Abraham of Rhythm Sweet and Hot will perform a free organ program at 6:30 Feb. 21, before the 7 p.m. screening.
• Silents Please! Series features silent movies with live musical accompaniment by local musicians. February’s silent film is “Piccadilly” (1929) at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 with live music by Tom Roberts & AppalAsia. Includes an introduction before the screening and Q&A after. • “Legend,” starring Tom Cruise, screens at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 20; 4 p.m. Feb. 22 (all seats $5); and 1 p.m. Feb. 23 (all seats $3).
• “Black Out,” a Dutch crime comedy, screens at 11:30 p.m. Feb. 21.

Hollywood’s Previews Series, which allows Pittsburgh audiences to catch new movies before their New York and Los Angeles openings, show only once. The Literary Society at La Roche College will host “A Pittsburgh Story” by Bill Moushey at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Ryan Room of the Zappala College Center. The presentation is free.
Moushey, a professor for Point Park University’s School of Communication, will discuss how he established his career as a journalist.

Winterfest will be held from noon-3 p.m. Feb. 22 in Clearview Common. Tickets are $15 to sample lots of chili from local restaurants. There will be a grudge cookoff between the Mt. Lebanon fire and police departments and also invited to participate in the cookoff this year is the Medical Rescue Team South. Tickets will be available soon.
The Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra continues its theme of “Travel the World in Music” with a celebration of Hungarian and Italian music. The concert will take place at 3 p.m. Feb. 23 at St. Bernard Church, Mt. Lebanon.
The concert will include Bela Bartok’s “Hungarian Pictures” and Franz Liszt’s “Les Preludes.” In addition, Warren Davidson, music director, will play the violin in Jeno Hubay’s delightful “Hejre Kati.”
The Italian portion of the concert features orchestra members Deborah Silverstein and her daughter, Rebecca, performing Domenico Cimerosa’s “Concerto for Two Flutes.” Other Italian selections include Guiseppe Verdi’s “Triumphal March from Aida,” Pietro Mascani’s “Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana” and Giovanni Gabrieli’s “Sonata Pian e Forte.”

Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall will present the Freya String Quartet in “Roots” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24.
The program opens with folk songs from cellist Katya Janpoladyan’s native Armenia evoking musical traditions of a culture dating back nearly 2,500 years.
Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the library in Carnegie or at the concert.

Point Park University’s Conservatory Theatre Company presents “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson,” a raucous and unique rock musical that reinvents America’s seventh president as a contemporary rock star. The show gives a modern spin to the founding of the Democratic Party, Jackson’s life and his relationship with his wife, Rachel Jackson.
“Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” runs Feb. 21-March 2, with a preview Feb. 20 in the Rockwell Theatre at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Calling all superhero, cosplayer, anime characters, stormtroopers, ghostbusters, furries and more!
The ToonSeum, Pittsburgh, will present its first ever Cause-Play Party at 8:30 p.m. March 1 at Tilden Lounge located at 941 Liberty Avenue, just two doors down from the ToonSeum.
Guests are encouraged to show up as their favorite character for this cosplay party. All characters are welcome from superheroes to furries, geeks, Otakus or dressed in a lycra spandex onsie.
Prizes and trophies will be awarded in a variety of costume categories. A silent auction will feature a variety of items including character costumes, original art and unique experiences.
In addition, light hors d’oeuvres and specially crafted Super Shots will be served throughout the night. A cash bar will be available as well.
A Superfan VIP Pre-Party will take place from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
All attendees must be 21 or older.
