Project Evolution II will take place at 7 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Carnegie Music Hall in Carnegie to raise funds and awareness for the Homeless Children’s Education Fund. The black-tie theater-style concert and fashion show event brings together the underground community of young professionals in fashion and music as well as the talents of artists, models and related industry professionals.
A reception will follow the event with free admission to meet all of the artists, designers, volunteers, supporters, sponsors and models.

Many of the Pittsburgh region’s finest craft beers at the Mt. Lebanon Public Library’s fourth annual Brews for a Chili Night, 6-8:30 p.m. Feb. 1.
All-inclusive tickets, $30, are on sale at the library’s front desk. Special donor tickets are available for $50.
All proceeds for the event, sponsored by the Friends of the Mt. Lebanon Public Library, will be donated to support books and programs at the library.
Chili will be provided by Café io, Gaucho in the Strip District and more than 20 volunteer chefs from the community. Desserts also will be available.
The event will feature music by the Retro Agents.

Washington City Mission’s 20th Annual Sweet Sunday takes place Feb. 9 at the Southpointe Hilton Garden Inn. Guests will enjoy an array of delicious desserts, entertainment and family activities. The 30th annual Corporate Cup Charity Ski Race and Sporting Clays to benefit Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh (BVRS) will be held on Feb. 28 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Diann Roffe, an Olympic gold medalist in the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, and a world champion ski competitor, will be featured at the Corporate Cup Charity Ski Race for both skiers and snow boarders starting at 10 a.m.
Individuals may compete without a team or attend the fun day and not compete.
During an afternoon flight that includes 100 targets, shooters participate in teams of five.

The Unmasking Fear, Building Hope masquerade ball hosted by the Mt. Lebanon Junior Women’s Club on March 1 will raise funds for A Child’s Place at Mercy’s new Child Advocacy Center location in Washington County. The event takes place at Duquesne University’s Power Center Ballroom, and will feature Mardi Gras flair. The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh will hold its eighth annual fundraising event JCC Big Night: Game On March 8 at the JCC in Squirrel Hill.
The event will include music, dancing and food.

Nikki’s Magic Wand, LLC, the cosmetic company started in Penn Hills and creator of Nikki’s Magic Wand, a cosmetic tool designed to retrieve left over product in small tubes and containers, is launching a year-long giving campaign.
Groups/agencies that Nikki’s Magic Wand will serve in 2014 include: January – Project Linus (blankets for traumatized children); February – The Rescue Mission (assistance for the homeless); March – The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; April – Autism Awareness Month; May – Veterans Services; June – Domestic Violence Services; July – March of Dimes (assists babies); August – The Sanctuary Project (addresses violence in the community); September – Animal Rescue League; October – Bethlehem Haven (women in shelters); November – Cupcakes for Smiles (a treat for all); and December – Every Child, Inc. (assists children in foster care).
