Catholic Schools Week – Jan. 22

At St. Anne School, Castle Shannon, Catholic Schools Week and the beginning of the school’s 120th anniversary year will be celebrated with special events and activities. Highlights will include an open house at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 26, Mission Monday and Night Tales. The week will wrap up with the Winter Carnival and Rock-N-Jock Bowl.

At St. Louise de Marillac School, Upper St. Clair, Catholic Schools Week will be celebrated along with the 50th anniversary of the school. This year’s theme is “50 Years Alive in Faith.” Activities will include a talent show, faith rally and a visit by WTAE-TV’s Mike Clark at 9 a.m. Jan. 30.

At Heinz Hall, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will celebrate Catholic Schools Night Feb. 8. The student performance will begin at 7:15 p.m. in the grand lobby followed by the concert at 8 p.m. Music director Manfred Honeck and the women of the Mendelssohn Choir will present Gustav Holst’s “The Planet.”

Following the concert, students, teachers, parents and administrators will meet Maestro Manfred Honeck in the Dorothy Porter Simmons Regency Rooms.
