HAPPENINGS
Pittsburgh Glass Center will welcome world-renowned glassblower Lino Tagliapietra 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Jan. 27-31. Tagliapietra will work at the glass center with his Seattle-based team of Nancy Callan, Darin Denison, Jen Elek and Dave Walters.
St. Clair Hospital needs volunteers for a variety of challenging assignments. Adults are needed for the gift shop, mail delivery, wheel-chairing patients, manning the information desks, assisting families of patients in the surgical family waiting room, fitting free wigs for female cancer patients and clerical duties.
Juniors are needed for the gift shop, gift cart, information desks and escorting patients. Training, free parking and discounted meals are provided. For details, call 412-942-2085.
Women who enjoy singing are welcome to the Sounds of Pittsburgh Chorus Global Open House at 7 p.m. any Monday in January. “Sounds” is a chapter of Sweet Adelines with members singing barbershop harmony. The group offers its talent at civic events and charitable functions.
