Peters Twp. library closer to getting an associate library director

2 min read

In addition to granting permission for a summer farmers’ market at St. David’s Episcopal Church, giving approval to a liquor license and listening to concerned residents, Peters Township Council voted Jan. 27 to allow 35-foot setbacks for a new development, Ironwood Estates. Unless an exception is granted, setbacks are to be 50 feet. The developer, CM3 Development Co., said the 17.66-acre site on the Lelak property off Boyer Road, is heavily wooded with steep slopes. In granting the shorter set-backs, grading would be minimized and fewer trees would need to be removed.

Council also approved the final plan of the Anthony Farms Phase 2 by taking a lot from a future phase and including it in phase 2.

Council announced there were 27 applications for the newly created position of associate library director, with six of the candidates being interviewed. Of the six, three candidates are to be interviewed by the Library Board and a committee of council Feb. 4.

Council also announced there will be a joint meeting of council and members of the Peters Township School Board at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 3 in the district’s administration building. The meeting is open to the public and a public comment period is included at the end of the agenda.
