Hollywood Theater presents ML native Manganiello’s ‘La Bare’
July 4-6
‘La Bare’
The historic Hollywood Theater in Dormont presents the directorial debut of Mt. Lebanon native Joe Manganiello.
“La Bare,” a documentary that goes behind the scenes of an elite male strip club in Dallas, will show 10 p.m. July 4, 9:30 p.m. July 5, and 7 p.m. July 6.
Manganiello, who came to prominence in Hollywood as an actor on the popular HBO vampire series “True Blood” and the hit CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother,” has continued to see his star rise with performances in popular movies like “Magic Mike,” “Sabotage” and “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.” With “La Bare,” the Carnegie Mellon graduate is stepping into a new phase in his career as a filmmaker. Manganiello’s brother, Nick, served as a producer on the film.
The provocative documentary takes viewers behind the curtain at Dallas’ La Bare, the world’s most popular male strip club. Viewers will gain an unforgettable insight into the lives of La Bare’s male dancers-a lineup of gods and rock stars that make for the ultimate fantasy. According to Manganiello, “the film explores every level of the profession in three vivid dimensions.”
