CECIL TOWNSHIP
Tools stolen: A construction trailer parked at the Reserve housing plan was entered and $700 in tools were stolen, township police said. The tools are owned by Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning of New York, police said. The theft was reported at 7 a.m. June 30.
Burglary/car entered: Neil Chichilla, 35, Oblock Lane, McDonald, told police his truck was entered while parked in the drive between June 27 and June 30, and an iPad and laptop were stolen, police said. No value was listed. The theft was reported June 30. At 4:07 p.m. July 1, Chichilla, reported his house was entered after noon and a .40-calibre Ruger pistol was stolen, police said.
MT. LEBANON
Underage drinking: Skyler Patsko, 18, of 1275 Lakemont Drive, Pittsburgh, and Sarah Taube, 18, of 110 Academy Ave., Pittsburgh, received citations for underage drinking at 1:30 a.m. June 24, on Lakemont Drive, police said.
Drug possession: David Yancy, 24, of 1465 Alabama Ave., Pittsburgh, was charged with possession of marijuana, at 11:28 p.m. June 10, on Washington Road, police said.
Receiving stolen property: John Dixon, 53, of 2648 Monterey Drive, Upper St. Clair, was charged with receiving stolen property, theft and unauthorized transfer of registration, at 11:35 a.m., June 23, on Florida Avenue, police said.
Drug charges: Akash Monpara, 19, of 1546 Cook School Road, Upper St. Clair, was charged with possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, at 10:15 p.m. June 27, on Washington Road, police said.
Juveniles charged: Two 13-year-old boys received citations for discharging a weapon on Cedar Boulevard at 3:41 p.m. June 30.
Criminal mischief: Police report several incidents of criminal mischief including a broken rear windshield on a vehicle parked on McFarland Road at 9:27 p.m. June 23; a lock damaged on a front door of a business on Washington Road at 10:25 a.m. June 25; a vehicle damaged while parked on Buchanan Place at 12:22 p.m. June 29; and a vehicle window broken while parked on Kewanna Avenue, at 10:01 a.m. June 1.
There was an attempt to open a bank account on Cochran Road using a fraudulent Social Security number at 12:40 p.m, June 25; and unauthorized charges made to a credit card reported at 8:21 p.m. June 26, from Duquesne Drive, police said.
Unspecified items were stolen from a purse on Cedar Boulevard and reported at 3:45 p.m. June 30, police said.
PETERS TOWNSHIP
Theft from vehicle: A computer and an iPad mini were stolen from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a house in the 100 block of Windemere Court, township police said. The theft was reported at 10:35 a.m. June 27. The owner told police he believes he forgot to lock the car.
One injured: Lauren Marie Baker, 22, of 7 Stonegate Drive, Wheeling, W.Va., was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 10:57 a.m. June 30 at the intersection of Washington and Waterdam roads, township police said. Baker appeared to be confused and was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment, police said. A witness told police Baker was driving north when her vehicle veered and struck a utility police.
Burglary: A contractor and the owner of a house in the 100 block of East Highland Drive called police when both noticed a man run from the house and drive away in a car, township police said. A check of the house found copper pipes were ripped from the hot-water tank in the basement. The water had not been turned off. The burglary and damage were reported at 7:04 p.m. June 27.
Burglary: The office trailer of Federouch Landscape Supply, 202 Buckeye St., was entered and a computer server was stolen, township police said. When a receipt box that is normally in the safe was discovered on a desk, the employee opened the safe and discovered $2,000 missing, police said. The total value of missing items is $3,000 and the burglary was reported at 5:53 a.m. July 2.
Burglary: Numerous telephones were stolen from the AT&T store, 4120 Washington Road, before 4:34 a.m. July 3, township police said. A witness saw three black men leaving the scene in a van, police said. Officers found a front glass door smashed and a rock nearby, and upon entering noticed racks missing several phones, police said. Drawers behind the counter were opened, but it is unknown what if anything was stolen police said. There is no estimate of loss.
Indecent exposure: Two women walking on Arrowhead Trail near Quail Run development told police a man running in the opposite direction wearing very short shorts was fully exposed when he ran past them at about 10:30 a.m. July 5, township police said. When the women reached a parking lot, they told police the man ran past them twice, but nothing was exposed, police. The man is white, about 30 years old, with brown hair and about 5-feet, 10-inches tall. The incident was reported at 9:52 p.m. July 4.
Accident: Police received a report of a speeding motorcycle on McMurray Road and a short time later, were called to a motorcycle accident in front of 830 Bebout Road, township police said. The motorcyclist, Steven Joseph Backstrom, 26, of 119 Dyers Stone Road, Eighty Four, lost control on a right curve at 11:59 p.m. July 4, crossed the road and struck a brick pillar and a mailbox before striking a second mailbox, police said. Backstrom suffered several cuts and abrasions and possibly a separated shoulder. There is no indication of medical treatment or transport.
SOUTH FAYETTE
Materials stolen: A front door, valued at $660, and a pile of wood, valued at $591, were stolen from a house under construction in the Walnut Ridge plan off Battle Ridge Road, township police said. The theft was reported by the project manager for Ryan Homes June 26, but the theft was noticed June 6, police said.
Cars entered: Two unlocked cars parked on separate streets in Sturgeon were entered before 10 a.m. July 1, township police said. Stolen from one car was a Springfield semi-automatic handgun, and from the other car electronic cigarettes and cartridges, a survival knife and a set of keys were stolen, police said.
Burglary: A woman walking her dog told police she was out of the house for a matter of a few minutes at 9:30 a.m. July 3, and when she returned, the kitchen, living room and a bedroom were partially ransacked and a DVD player, prescription medication and jewelry were stolen, township police said. The burglary occurred at a residence in the 6000 block of Belle Terre Court.
