CECIL TOWNSHIP
Fraud: Rebecca Price of 62 Highland Dive, McDonald, reported to police that information concerning herself, husband and son was used to file fraudulent tax returns with the federal government. Township police said the incident was reported at 9:40 a.m. July 14.
MT. LEBANON
Man arrested: Michael Richards, 38, of 125 Abbeyville Road, Mt. Lebanon, was charged with simple assault following an incident at 7:37 p.m. June 26, on Abbeyville Road, police said.
Juvenile charged: A 17-year-old boy was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at 9:31 p.m. July 10.
Underage drinking: Christopher Girvin, 20, of 373 Questend Ave. and Mitchell Klemencic, 20, of 1062 Firwood Drive, both Mt. Lebanon, were charged with underage drinking at 7:06 p.m. July 11, on Robb Hollow Road, municipal police said.
Burglary: A residence on St. Clair Drive was entered and jewelry was stolen from a bedroom, police said. The burglary was reported at 9:07 p.m. July 8.
Criminal mischief: An air conditioning unit was moved and copper wire was stolen from a building on Washington Road before 11:20 a.m. July 9, police said.
Thefts: Money was taken from a washing machine in an apartment laundry room on McCully Street before 1:05 p.m., July 7; money orders were stolen from an apartment on Central Square before 1:49 p.m. July 15; items were stolen from a store on Cooke Lane before 1:30 a.m. July 10; a telephone was stolen from a vehicle parked in a parking lot on Moffett Street before 9:25 a.m. July 10; items were removed from a vehicle parked in the driveway of Arden Lane before 11:03 a.m. July 14; a money was taken from a vehicle while parked in a driveway on Elm Spring Road before 12:11 p.m. July 15, police said.
PETERS TOWNSHIP
Drug charges: Three men were charged with violating the drug act during a traffic stop at 2:06 a.m. July 13. A vehicle driven by Christian Petrozza, 19, of 112 Fox Creek Road, Venetia, was seen without lights traveling on East McMurray Road, and was stopped in front of 3907 Washington Road, police said. The officer detected the odor of marijuana and saw a bag of suspected marijuana in the vehicle. He noticed a front-seat passenger, Chase A. Longo, 19, of 417 Walnut St., Emlenton, moving his hand around his waist and when he left the vehicle, a chunk of marijuana was stuck to the front of his T-shirt. A rear-seat passenger, Cole G. Marks, 20, of 100 Abbey Court, Venetia, admitted to marijuana and paraphernalia in the vehicle, police said. A grinder and rolling papers were later discovered. Petrozza, Longo and Marks were charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, and Marks was also charged with purchase and consumption of alcohol. The charges were filed July 15 and were sent by summons.
One injured: A McMurray woman complained of an injury, but refused transport following a two-vehicle accident at 8:18 p.m. July 15. Lori Ann Keir, 44, of 160 Lakeview Drive, McMurray, told police she was traveling north on Washington Road and was turning left on McDowell Lane and believed she had a green turn arrow. Tara Spiteri, 34, of 115 Third St., Selinsgrove, said she was driving south on Washington Road and had the green light when Keir pulled in front of her at the intersection. Spiteri was not injured, police said.
Burglary: An ultimate terrain vehicle was stolen from a site occupied by Allegheny Outdoor Power Equipment, 600 Venetia Road, before 12:50 p.m. July 20, and was later found wrecked against an apple tree west of the property near the railroad tracks, township police said. An employee noticed two doors were open on a storage compartment in a trailer, and the lock was cut on the gate. There is no estimate of damages.
Man charged: Dillon L. Britt, 21, of 350 Barnickle St., Meadow Lands, was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment following an incident involving an estranged girlfriend at 8:50 p.m. July 20, township police said. His former girlfriend, an employee of Dairy Queen, 3351 Washington Road, called police when Britt entered the store, ordered a milk shake then began to yell profanities at her. She left the store by a rear door and as she was standing at the back of the business, she told police Britt drove past and threw the milk shake at her. The charges were filed July 21, and will be mailed by summons.
Simple assault: Brandon Lee Staymates, 21, of 126 Schenley Drive, was charged with simple assault and reckless endangerment following an incident at 2:33 p.m, July 19, township police said. Staymates was being driven home from work when he struck the driver, Steven Stark of Avalon, twice in the head with a closed fist. Staymates also attempted to bite Stark and attempted to grab the steering wheel. Stark stopped in front of 1021 Old Washington Road, was able to get Staymates outside of the vehicle, locked the car and called police. Stark complained of dizziness and was taken to St. Clair Hospital for treatment. The hospital does not release patient information.
Retail theft: Thomas J. Pektas, no age given, of 273 Park Ave., Natrona Heights, was charged with retail theft after stealing a $55 digital indoor antenna from Miller’s Ace Hardware, 4275 Washington Road, township police said. The theft was reported at 1:24 p.m. July 18. Pektas has pled guilty to five previous retail theft charges, police said. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and was placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.
SCOTT TOWNSHIP
Cruelty to animals: John W. King Sr., 44, and Rebecca J. King, 43, both of 732 Orchard St., Carnegie, were charged with cruelty to animals for leaving three cats inside an apartment they vacated, township police said. The cats died. The incident occurred between noon June 22, and 5:51 p.m. July 6. The location of the apartment was not listed.
Paint stolen: Two gallons of paint were stolen from outside a vehicle at WalMart, township police said. The theft occurred between 10-10:05 a.m. June 26.
Harassment: Timothy G. DeSavage, 36, of 516 Flynn Ave., Carnegie, was charged by summons with harassment and trespass involving an employee at Advance Auto Parts, Washington Avenue, township police said. The incident was reported at 8:51 p.m. July 7.
Theft: Someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on Orchard Street between July 7-8, and stole various items valued at $1,750.
Fraud: A resident of Carriage Park Apartments reported at 6:20 p.m. July 8, of an attempted scam to secure more than $10,000, township police said. Another victim told police he or she was scammed out of $3,960 over the telephone, township police said. The incident was reported at 3:56 p.m., July 10.
Burglary: Tools and copper piping were removed from a vacant house on Torrence Avenue between 1 p.m. July 10, and 8 a.m. July 11, township police said.
Man arrested: Brian Fodor, 29, of 104 Alexander Ave., Strabane, was charged with receiving stolen property for copper wire stolen from Lowe’s after an investigation into a man selling gift cards in the store’s parking lot, township police said. Fodor was charged at 8:05 p.m. July 13.
Disorderly conduct: Kayla Jakovac, 25, of 401 Carothers Ave., Carnegie, was charged with disorderly conduct following a domestic dispute in her apartment, township police said. The incident was reported at 11:11 p.m. July 13.
DUI accident: Susan Marie Hurney, 52, of 2333 Fremont Place, Pittsburgh, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after causing a four-vehicle accident on Greentree Road near Old Washington Pike at 3:43 p.m. July 15, township police said.
Robbery: Anthony James Pagano, 27, who said he is homeless, was charged with robbery, retail theft and other offenses after he scuffled with an employee at Lowe’s, township police said. The incident was reported at 4:14 p.m. July 15.
Man charged: Gregory Tucker, 27, of 219 Griffin Ave., Pittsburgh, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a prohibitive weapon after being taken into custody at WalMart at 5:23 p.m. July 16, township police said. He was taken to Allegheny County Jail on an outstanding warrant.
SOUTH FAYETTE
Water heater stolen: A wall-mounted water heater valued at $2,000, was reported stolen from a construction site on Celebration Circle, in the Newbury plan, between July 8-9, police said. The heater is owned by EcoCraft Homes.
Items stolen: A refrigerator, dishwasher, toilets and various faucets were stolen from a house under construction on Farmview Drive, Berkley Ridge Plan, between July 12-14, township police said.
iPad stolen: An iPad left in a vehicle with the windows down while the owner entered a business between 5:45-6 p.m. July 15, was missing when the owner returned, township police said. The vehicle was parked outside a business on Main Street, Sturgeon. The iPad is valued at $500, police said.
UPPER ST. CLAIR
Insulation stolen: Several bundles of insulation were stolen from a house undergoing renovations in the 1500 block of McLaughlin Run Road, between July 9-10, township police said. There is no estimate of value.
Underage drinking: A 16-year-old boy was charged with underage drinking after he was found staggering near the intersection of Fort Couch and Washington roads at 1 a.m. July 16, township police said. He admitted to drinking earlier and was released to a parent.
Unauthorized credit card: A resident of the 400 block of Long Drive reported July 18 that her credit card was used without authorization at three gasoline stations in Kentucky the previous week, township police said.
