Bring God back to public

1 min read

Funny – the people who gave us the basis for our government didn’t find prayer to be divisive. They prayed publicly. They seemed to think acknowledging God was a unifying factor. They made that point in the Declaration of Independence when they said we were endowed by our Creator with inalienable rights, among them life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our rights come from a Being outside of ourselves. They are not our invention. Shouldn’t we be at least grateful?

I would propose we had a greater sense of national unity when we publicly acknowledged Our Creator than we do now, having effectively removed God from the public square. Does the phrase “divided, polarized nation” sound familiar?
