Gearhard – Dobbin
Liz Donella Dobbin of Washington announces the engagement of her son, Josh, to JoElla Gearhard, daughter of Herb and Nancy Gearhard of Murrysville.
Josh is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania Police Academy and the sheriffs’ academy program at Penn State University. He is a deputy with the Westmoreland County sheriff’s office and an officer with the Southwest Regional Police Department.
JoElla attends St. Vincent College, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in environmental science with a minor in biology.
The couple met through their mutual love of bagpiping. Both have played since the age of 8. They are members of the Seton Hill University pipe band, where he is a pipe major.
A July wedding is planned.
