Bethel Presbyterian Church, Bethel Park, will hold a Lenten Soup and Study series at 6 p.m. beginning March 12. Pastor Tom Moore will speak about the Lord’s Prayer on five Wednesdays.

• Laureate Wind Quintet, composed of faculty members from West Virginia University, will perform at 7:30 p.m. March 23. A freewill offering will be taken. A reception will follow.

• Men’s Ministry will sponsor the annual Christian Athlete Recognition Breakfast at 9 a.m. March 22. A group of high school junior and senior students will receive awards. Master of ceremonies will be former Cleveland Indians pitcher Tom McGough.

• A Musical Excursion will be presented at 7 p.m. March 16, featuring a variety of styles including gospel, spiritual, jazz and classical. Travel around the world with music from American to African and Celtic to Caribbean. An offering will be taken.

At Our Lady of Grace, Scott Township, the Women’s Guild/Confraternity of Christian Mothers will host Joanne Milburn at 7 p.m. March 12 in Keefer Hall. She will speak on “The Fruit of Love: Evangelism.”

At Temple Emanuel of the South Hills, The Jacob’s Ladder Fund will present internationally-known author, speaker and consultant Kathy Kater, who works in treatment and prevention of body image, eating, fitness and weight-related concerns, on March 24.

Kater will offer two sessions: from 4-5:30 p.m. she will address teachers, healthcare workers and other professionals; and from 7:30-9 p.m. she will speak to parents, teens and professionals unable to make the first session.

At St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center, South Side, Pittsburgh, the Mercy Parish Nurse and Health Ministry Program, part of Pittsburgh Mercy Health System and sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, will hold the Lenten retreat “Psalms for Busy People: Practicing the Presence of God in Our Everyday Lives,” with reservations and payment due by March 21.

The retreat will take place April 11 and 12 at the retreat center on 148 Monastery Drive.

Registration begins at 6 p.m. Friday, and the retreat ends at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $110, which includes overnight accommodations, meals and retreat handouts. Parking is free.

At Jesus Fellowship, Bethel Park, a ladies Bible study, a seven-week video series with Priscilla Shirer titled “Jonah – Navigating a Life Interrupted,” will begin March 24.

At St. Thomas More Church, Bethel Park, Eucharistic Adoration follows the 11:30 a.m. Mass every Wednesday. The rosary is recited after Mass. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is recited at 3 p.m. Recited evening prayer begins at 7 p.m. followed by Benediction.
