Wuenschell leads Vassar

Cory Wuenschell of Mt. Lebanonwent 3-for-4, including two out-of-the-park homers, and drove in six runs in Vassar College’s 16-7 win over Franklin & Marshall. He also went 2-for-4 against Medaille College with a double, an RBI and a run tallied to his record at the Brewers won, 6-3. Out of 15 at bats, he had seven hits, eight RBI and three runs scored.
The 5-9, 170-pound sophomore catcher is a Mt. Lebanon product. A three-year letterwinner, Wuenschell helped the Blue Devils to the quarterfinals in the state championships and a WPIAL runner-up showing. He also earned letters in football and hockey.
The son of Edward and Kimberlee Wuenschell is majoring in economics. He interned at Merrill Lynch. He won first place in the Personal Finance Regional Competition for the Future Business Leaders of America in 2011. He won first in the Emerging Business Issues Regional Compettition for FBLA in 2012.
