Fantasy, science fiction, mystery and conflict. Lots of suspense for thrill-seeking readers. This amazing new author is Mt. Lebanon resident Matthew Rudoy. Currently studying English education in his second year at the State University of New York, and a graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School, Matthew has recently published his second novel, “Destruction,” the sequel to his first, titled “Corruption.”

“I’ve always loved to read and really enjoyed the ‘Harry Potter’ series,” Matthew said. “The roles of Zero and Xray in ‘Holes’ are also on my list of favorites.”

As a young boy, Matthew also loved play acting and spent lots of time planning scenes from stories he was eager to re-enact. Concerned that he would not remember all that he wanted to, Matthew chose to gather and document his thoughts to write a book or two, hopefully in near future. With plenty of ideas and careful consideration, and while still in high school, he began writing chapter after chapter, drafting as much as he could through to the story’s conclusion. Pleased with the ending he aimed for, Matthew made additional changes as he carefully reworked one chapter at a time.

Family and friends were delighted to help. He readily accepted their guidance and suggestions while reading his manuscripts and revisions.

“I’m grateful for their help and for assistance from my 10th grade English teacher, Mr. Bradley Kabo,” Matthew went on to say.

His writing career began by building his web of intrigue around “Corruption.” A potential global war, vengeful schemes and a struggle to balance morality and duty makes for interesting reading in this action-packed thriller. The clear-cut characters and cleverly written plot have the reader eager for the sequel.

It’s only been a few months since “Destruction” has been published, continuing the saga with skill and imagination beyond the writer’s years. Its believable characters and the plot’s horrific battle keep readers on their toes through the last page.

Fantasy and sci-fi make their own rules, providing readers with the magic realism about the unknown in a fabricated world while mixing both the familiar and the strange. Readers will find the books hard to close while anticipating another thriller by Matthew A. Rudoy.

Matthew’s novels are available online at Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
