‘INKY’ on stage at Off the Wall Productions

Continuing its mission of producing plays by, for and about women, Off The Wall Productions announces “INKY,” Rinne Groff’s dark comedy about the importance of fighting back. Directed by Ingrid Sonnichsen and starring Tony Bingham (Greg), Abby Quatro (Inky), Adrienne Wehr (Barbara), and Evangelina Paul and Layla Wyoming (sharing the role of Allison on alternating days), “INKY” has 15 scenes, the same as the number of rounds in championship boxing fights.
During the high-rolling, morally skewed 1980s, a love-starved Manhattan-ite husband and wife struggle to satisfy their childlike desire to “have it all.” Money rules as dollar bills are used as foreplay for sex. But when Barbara and Greg take in Inky, a young Slavic nanny who’s obsessed with Muhammad Ali, to care for their 9-year-old daughter and infant son, they are forced to face both their limitations and their potential for change.
Performances are at 8 p.m. May 8-10 and 15-17 with a 3 p.m. matinee May 11. Tickets at $5-$35 can be purchased online at www.showclix.com/event/3770599 or by calling 1-888-71-TICKETS.
