The Sixth Women of Distinction Awards luncheon is set for 11:30 a.m. May 9 at the Fairmont Pittsburgh. Proceeds benefit the Croh’s & Colitis Foundation. Honorees are Eva Tansky Blum, honoree in regional vitality; Ruby Kang, honoree in philanthropy; and Amelia Brause, emerging leader honoree. A spaghetti dinner to raise funds to defray the cost of medical care for Vernie Davis of Houston, who was injured while riding his motorcycle in Florida, is set for noon-6 p.m. May 18 at the Houston American Legion. The National Kidney Foundation’s annual NKF Golf Classic tees off with a shotgun start at noon May 19 at Valley Brook Country Club. Golfers will compete for Tiffany & Co. awards and an invite to the NKF Golf Classic National Finals at Pebble Beach, Jan. 15-18, 2015. For details, visit nkfgolfclassic.org.
The Third Annual South Fayette Foundation for Excellence Golf Classic will be held 9:30 a.m. July 14 at Southpointe Golf Club. A hot breakfast buffet will be served at 8 a.m.
The fee per golfer is $150, which includes an 18-hole scramble, riding cart, hot breakfast and lunch buffets, raffles, auction, door prizes and various awards. Hole-in-one prizes include three $5,000 awards and a car from Colussy Chevrolet.
The South Fayette Foundation for Excellence, an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization formed in 2010, works to support the students and staff of the South Fayette School District with student scholarships and grants to teachers for innovative educational opportunities.
