The following students were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines: Anthony Siudela and Bryan Tornabene of McDonald, Sara Payo and Whitney Moore of Upper St. Clair, and Brittany Woodrow of Venetia, Ashley Zaya of Bethel Park, all The Pennsylvania State University chapter; John Vaught of Bethel Park, Indiana University of Pennsylvania chapter; Justin Morden of Bethel Park, Duquesne University chapter; Sandra Barsotti of Green Tree, Indiana University of Pennsylvania chapter; Kaitlin Vavrek of Bethel Park, Clarion University chapter; Lauren Yost of Bethel Park, Slippery Rock University chapter.
Brittany Rees of McDonald was among 150 students recognized by Lebanon Valley College for making an impact on the campus as a new student. The Celebration of Student Success reception, held Feb. 19, honored the student’s achievement. The honorees were nominated by faculty and administrators for standing out in the classroom, in their work with classmates, as student leaders, in on-campus employment, or in extracurricular activities such as athletics, performance, or volunteerism.
Rees is a graduate of South Fayette High School and is pursuing a bachelor of science in health science.
The following students were named to the fall dean’s list at Washington University in St. Louis: Nathaniel Blecher and Michael Seitanakis, both of Upper St. Clair; Laura Congelio of Venetia; and Michael Bowen Liu and Diya Damodaran Nagaraj, both of Mt. Lebanon.
The following students have graduated from The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford: Andrew Dufield of Bridgeville, information systems degree; Megan Follmer of McDonald, sports medicine degree; and Erica Ignatz of Venetia, nursing degree. Ignatz will work for Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Katherine Lamb of Bethel Park, a senior public relations, speech communications major at York College of Pennsylvania, was recently presented with a Student Senate Service Award, which recognizes outstanding student service to the College and the community. She was also named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
The following students graduated from the University of Dayton on May 4: Bethany Suchy and Olivia Bovalina of Venetia; Christine Schmoyer, Kyle Wagner, Brennan May and Anthony Carauso of Upper St. Clair; Sarah Devine of Castle Shannon; Jenna Tighe and Andrew Eckhardt of Dormont; Daniel Esposito of Green Tree; Will Ferens, Michael Halloran and Connor Mabon of Mt. Lebanon; Thomas Norton of McMurray; and Erin Wilson of Bethel Park.
Joshua Kammeraad, son of Gary and Natalie Kammeraad of Bethel Park, graduated from Hope College in Holland, Mich., May 4, with a bachelor of arts degree in math and chemistry. He received the Boundy Computer Science Award at the annual honors convocation April 24 and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest scholastic honorary society. Kammaraad was a member of the cross country and track and field teams.
Kristina Skraitz graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic with a doctor of chiropractic degree. She is the daughter of Dr. Timothy and Vicki Skraitz of Venetia and a 2003 graduate of Peters Township High School.
