BETHEL PARK

Accident: A Duquesne Light contractor vehicle knocked down power lines onto the truck as the driver was conducting work along Library Road around 3:40 p.m. Nov. 5. The driver was trapped and the road closed for a short time.

Accident: A tractor trailer crashed into a pole, knocking down power lines at the intersection of Broughton and Paxton around 5:40 p.m. Nov. 5.

CASTLE SHANNON

Theft, Forgery: Joseph Merrante, 25, of Blossom Hill Road, was arrested Nov. 1 on theft and forgery charges, police said.

DUI: Owen Thomas, 30, of Blossom Hill Road, was arrested Nov. 1 for DUI in the 4000 block of Library Road, police said.

DUI: Mark Murray, 34, was arrested for DUI along Willow Avenue, police said.

Drug violations: Jane Kenny, 52, of Vermont Avenue, was arrested for drug violations on Oct. 31, police said.

Phone scam: A resident on Glen Shannon Drive reported to police on Oct. 31 someone claiming to be from the IRS called his home asking for cash.

MT. LEBANON

Hit and run: A vehicle was struck in a parking lot off of Bower Hill Road on Oct. 30, police said.

Hit and run: A vehicle was hit by another vehicle while stopped at a traffic light on Cochran Road Nov. 3, police said.

DUI: Craig Carter, 25, of Meadowlark Drive, was arrested Oct. 26 for DUI as he was driving along Arden Lane around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 26, police said. Carter was found without a valid license.

DUI, Public Drunkenness: James Flaherty, 48, of Cochran Road, was arrested for public drunkenness, DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and harassment after he was found along Washington Road around 3 a.m. Oct. 27, police said. Flaherty also faces charges for resisting arrest.

Illegal weapons, DUI: Jason Madi-Hunt, 33, of Kenliworth St., was arrested at 3:17 a.m. Oct. 27 along Washington Road for DUI and possessing prohibited offensive weapons.

DUI: Robin Haigh, 53, of McNeilly Road, was arrested for DUI along Sunset Drive on Oct. 27, police said.

DUI: Leandra Pavlik, 39, of Kenmont Avenue, was arrested for DUI along Kenmont Avenue at 11:54 p.m. Nov. 1.

Theft, Underage Drinking: David Mancuso, 18, of Washington Road, was arrested for theft from a motor vehicle, prowling at night, possession of drug paraphernalia and underage possession of alcohol, police said.

PETERS TOWNSHIP

Vandalism: A mailbox valued at approximately $50 was allegedly blown up outside a residence in the 300 block of Greenfield Drive. The incident was reported on Nov. 4 around 8:30 p.m. as a complainant told police he heard a loud bang and found the mailbox in the middle of the road.

Criminal trespass: A Suzuki 250 motorcycle was allegedly taken for a joyride after someone entered a garage in the 300 block of Springdale Road, police said. The owner reported to police around 4 p.m. Nov. 4 that the bike had body damage and a flat tire, and had been placed in the approximate position it is usually parked.

Theft from vehicle: A man reported to police Nov. 4 that an unknown person took a tablet computer from his vehicle parked at a gas station on East McMurray Road. The tablet was tracked to a McDonald’s in Morgantown, W.Va., though the suspect and the tablet were not found. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Theft: A resident in the 900 block of Bebout Road reported to police Nov. 5 that his wheel barrow and rake went missing after a brown Chevy pickup truck stopped briefly at the end of his driveway.

DUI: Brian Lee Fodar, 29, of Strabane, was pulled over as he was driving along East McMurray Road around 12:30 a.m. Nov. 6 after he was observed going through a red light. Fodar pulled on top a curb, police said, and when backup arrived, he was found unconscious behind the wheel. Stamp bags suspected to have contained heroin were found inside his vehicle. He is to be charged with drug possession, intent to deliver and DUI, police said.

Retail theft: David R. Chadwick, 49, of Euclid Avenue, Canonsburg, was arrested by police after surveillance video in K-Mart, 4041 Washington Road, showed him taking toiletries from the store without paying Nov. 8.

Retail Theft: Police are looking for a suspect in a Nov. 8 theft from CVS Pharmacy, 3870 Washington Road, as the suspect reportedly emptied a bottle of diet pills into his pocket.

DUI: Officers responded Nov. 8 to a report of a driver parked halfway onto the curb at Outdoor Kitchen Company, 28961 Washington Road, and found John F. Burns, 70, behind the wheel suspected of DUI.

Crash, DUI: Officers sought a vehicle on Nov. 9 after a large pile of dirt was found on West McMurray Road and located a truck that had crashed in Carriage Hill with two individuals laying in the weeds nearby. The driver, 24-year-old Brandon V. Farias, of Penn Oak Drive, Pittsburgh, was arrested with a .149 blood-alcohol level, police said.

Criminal Mischief: Several mailboxes were destroyed after pumpkins were thrown at them outside homes along Marlboro Drive and Bunker Hill Drive on Nov. 8.

Burglary: A home in Windermere Court was entered and jewelry and cash valued at $7,300 was stolen from the residence between Nov. 6-9. Criminal Mischief: A resident in the 100 block of Trenton Circle reported 11:30 a.m. Nov. 10 that he found his pumpkins smashed in the road and his mailbox post split.

UPPER ST. CLAIR

Burglary, theft: The St. Clair Mini Mart at 2520 Washington Road was reported to have a broken window, which police say was shattered with a brick around 2:45 a.m. Nov. 5. Police said their investigation found at least $250 in cash and several cigarette cartons missing.

Scam: Between Nov. 6 and 10, Upper St. Clair police said at least three residents reported they had been called by people identifying themselves as IRS agents willing to offer discounts on their taxes if they paid with a card over the phone.
