Air Force Airman Kayla M. Metott graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Metott is the daughter of Beverly Sterling-Affinati of Canonsburg and Ricky Metott of Sandy Creek, N.Y. She is also the step-daughter of Dennis Affinati of Canonsburg and Heidi Metott of Sandy Creek.
Andrew Leonhard has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army after successfully completing the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) program and graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University. He is a 2010 graduate of Upper St. Clair High School.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Luke D. Thompson graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas, earning distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Lisa and John Thompson of Canonsburg and a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School.
Air Force Airman Andrew J. Giannuzzi graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Anthony and Lisa Giannuzzi of McMurray and a graduate of Peters Township High School.
Army Pvt. Nicholas Brown has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Brown is the son of Patricia and Robert Brown of Canonsburg, and a 2012 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School.
Dakota K. Snyder, an Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) cadet at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, Pa., has graduated from the Leader Development and Assessment Course (LDAC) at Fort Knox, Ky. Snyder is the son of John M. and Bobbi L. Snyder of Canonsburg and a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School.
