‘Souvenir’ on stage at Pittsburgh Playhouse
Through Oct. 12
‘Souvenir’
The REP at Point Park University presents “Souvenir” through Oct. 12 at Studio Theatre, Pittsburgh Playhouse.
Florence Foster Jenkins was an eccentric wealthy socialite whose utter inability to carry a tune never prevented her from holding recitals at the Ritz Carlton or selling out Carnegie Hall. Told through the eyes of her accompanist, Cosme McMoon, the hilariously off-key “Souvenir,” called “the funniest show on Broadway since ‘The Producers,'” is a wonderful and poignant journey through her performances that were the talk of New York.
Jill Keating and Jeff Howell star in this production. Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Matinees are at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s matinee is “pay what you want.”
