Adult Interest Center

The Adult Interest Center at Southminster Presbyterian Church, Mt. Lebanon, offers programs on Fridays, September-June, beginning at 11 a.m. that are free and open to the public. Lunch is served at noon at a cost of $6. Reservations are not required.

On Oct. 10, Craig Zinger will tickle the ivories and funny bones with his keyboard and comedic talents. On Oct. 17, the Mt. Lebanon police department will share tips on how to prevent fraud, especially as the holiday season approaches.

Retired Men meet

Retired Men’s Luncheon Group of Pleasant Hills will meet at noon on Oct. 16 in the Fellowship Hall of the Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church.

Henrik Vejlstrup of the FAA will discuss Next Gen, the Federal Aviation Administration new high tech way of controlling air traffic that is in the works. Vejlstrup flew as a pilot for 23 years before joining the FAA 18 years ago.

Cost for lunch is $7. Call 412-655-2000 by Oct. 10 to be included in the lunch order or for more information.

Living Younger Festival

The second annual Living Younger Information Festival for Caregivers and Seniors will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 11 at The Bible Chapel, McMurray.

AFSCME meet

AFSCME Retired Chapter 13 sub-chapter #8402 will meet at 1 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Frank Sarris Public Library, Canonsburg. All state retired employees welcome.

Seniors in the Sukkah

Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, will present Seniors in the Sukkah at noon on Oct. 14. Musical entertainment, sandwiches, shake the lulav and etrog and raffle prizes.

Mature Driver classes

AAA East Central’s Mature Driver renewal classes will be offered 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the South Hills AAA office in Upper St. Clair Oct. 16 and Dec. 9. To enroll, call 412-365-7211.

SF seniors meet

The South Fayette Senior Citizens will meet at 1 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Senior Center at 515 Miller’s Run Road, Morgan. Guest speaker will be South Fayette School District Superintendent Bille Rondinelli.

Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, will offer the following Senior Fitness Classes:

• Arthritis Foundation Exercise, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Tuesdays, through Oct. 21. Cost is $35.

• Tai Chi, 12:15-1:15 p.m. Tuesdays, through Oct. 21. Cost is $35.

• Gentle Yoga, 6-7 p.m. Mondays, through Oct. 20. Cost is $63.

Senior fair

State Senator Matt Smith (D-Allegheny/Washington) will hold his annual Senior Fair 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 22 at Beth El Congregation, Scott Township.

Offered will be “Ask the Doctor,” screenings and free flu and pneumonia shots to those age 65 and older with a Medicare or insurance card. The Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General will offer information sessions on combating senior fraud from noon-12:30 p.m. and 12:30-1 p.m.
