‘Love, Loss and What I Wore’ at Little Lake
Through Nov. 1
‘Love, Loss and What I Wore’
Little Lake Theatre Company presents “Love, Loss and What I Wore,” a collection of stories adapted by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron from the book by Ilene Beckerman, at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, through Nov. 1.
Starring Mary Quinlan, Sara Barbisch, Joyce Miller, Jena Oberg, Leah Hillgrove and Annette Bassett, and directed by Sunny Disney Fitchett, Little Lake’s artistic director, “Love, Loss and What I Wore” is a scrapbook of stories about unfortunate prom dresses, the humiliation of never carrying the right purse, traumatic lighting in fitting rooms, high heels and the existential state of having nothing to wear. Sometimes comic, often poignant and compelling, these fashionable tales do not concern matters of the closet as much as matters of the heart.
Audience members are invited to share written stories of their own, which will be attached to a “story clothesline” that will be hung in the lobby of the theater. Written stories may be brought to the theater and attached to the clothesline on the evening audience members attend the performance or may be submitted to mystories@littlelake.org. The first story – written by a man – has already been received.
And, in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Little Lake will be collecting contributions during the run of “Love, Loss and What I Wore” for the Pittsburgh chapter of Our Clubhouse (formerly Gilda’s Club Western PA). Collections buckets will be available for audience members as they enter and exit the theater.
