Hollywood brings ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ to Dormont moviehouse for one show only

‘Jesus Christ Superstar’
The historic Hollywood Theater in Dormont presents the 1973 musical film version of “Jesus Christ Superstar,” the first movie adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s popular 1970 Broadway musical, for one show only, at 7 p.m. May 2. In addition to the screening, Ted Neeley, who portrayed Jesus in the big-screen version, will introduce the film and be available to sign autographs after the screening.
“Jesus Christ Superstar” picked up six Golden Globe nominations and another from the Academy Awards after its release. It focuses on the relationship between Jesus and Judas in the days leading up to the crucifixion.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Advance tickets for the all-ages show are $10 at www.showclix.com. Tickets at the door are $12.
