Chiller Films & Horror Realm present ‘The Boy’ at Hollywood Theater

Aug. 18-20
‘The Boy’
The latest independent film release from Chiller Films will be shown Aug. 18-20 at The Hollywood Theater, Dormont. The three-night exclusive engagement is the only screening in the state of Pennsylvania and is co-presented by Horror Realm, Pittsburgh’s modern horror convention.
“The Boy” debuted at the 2015 SXSW Festival and was a nominee for the Grand Jury Award for Narrative Features. It is an intimate portrait of a 9-year-old sociopath as he first discovers his taste for killing. Set in an ailing motel on a desolate stretch of Southern highway, “The Boy” celebrates the dark imagination of children left to their own devices and the urge to… experiment.
“The Boy” is the first film in a trilogy aimed at tracking the childhood of a future serial killer, with installments depicting the character at ages 9, 14 and 18, respectively, and ending with his full transformation to an iconic mass murderer.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, 9:15 p.m. Wednesday and 7 p.m. Thursday.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors (65+) and students with ID and $5 for Hollywood members.
