Trump unfit to be president

2 min read

Donald Trump’s inappropriate remarks, a personal attack on the moderator of the 10-candidate debate on the Fox News Channel on Aug. 6, is a reflection on his personality.

While Trump has made his fortune by having brilliant insights on trends, he has done it, in part, by bullying others into cooperating with him. If he made a mistake in a business venture, he could write it off as a small loss and move forward. He views himself, as do many others, as having wonderful judgment because he has been very successful financially.

The president of the United States does not have such luxuries. Impulsive and vindictive remarks, made without thinking through the consequences, are dangerous to our country. Consultation with experts in every aspect of the president’s executive decisions and statements is essential. In international politics, putting down foreign leaders and people from other countries does not win the necessary cooperation to make the world better. In domestic politics, the same style leads to resentment in Congress, regardless of how much money he puts into their campaigns. And we have seen that without the cooperation of Congress, government becomes paralyzed.

Trump is unfit to be president because he is impulsive, arrogant, self-righteous and a bully. I have no idea where his moral compass points. Maybe it points inward, toward himself, at all times.
