Upper St. Clair community center closes temporarily, outdoor pool stays open

The Community and Recreation Center at Boyce Mayview Park is taking a summer break.
The Upper St. Clair facility will be closed from Sunday through Friday, Aug. 16-21, for maintenance.
The exception is the outdoor pool, which will remain open each day from 8 to 10:45 a.m. for adult programs and lap swims, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for swimmers in general.

• Apply new concrete stain around the perimeter of the lap and leisure pools
• Clean and wax indoor play structure and slides
• Disassemble and clean all pool equipment, including chlorinators, acid feeders, diatomaceous earth filters and ultraviolet light sanitation systems
• Inspect and grease all circulating and feature pumps
• Inspect and clean all boilers and heat exchangers, and change air filters
• New floor finish for the gymnasium and Exercise Room 2
• Paint walls throughout the facility
• Strip and refinish all vinyl composition tile floors
