Paws for a Cause
The Western Pennsylvania Police Benevolent Foundation announces the Fifth Annual Paws for a Cause, in partnership with Shorty’s Charities and The Proper Pitbull, Aug. 29 at Kelly Park in Oakdale. Registration is from 8:30-9:30 a.m. followed by the PAWS Walk at Collier Park from 9:45-10:30, Welcome to PAWS at 10:45 then meet Shorty Rossi and Hercules of “The Pit Boss” and visit the vendors and demonstrations, including work dogs, autistic support dogs, search and rescue dogs and detection and explosives dogs from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Register for a chance to win a professional photo session with Shorty at Mt. Washington an win a personalized pet portrait of the photo. A $15 donation per registrant includes walk, PAWS T-shirt and access to a full day of activities for the whole family.
PAWS for a Cause benefits the WPPBF missions and works to assist police and law enforcement families in times of crisis, injury and ultimate sacrifice. This year’s event is co-hosted with the Proper Pitbull and Shorty’s Charities.
On Aug. 27, the WPPBF will hold the Fourth Annual Smoking With Shorty event beginning at 6 p.m. at Duran’s Lounge in Carnegie. Attendees will receive a free cigar from Shorty’s line, coupons and vouchers, snack foods and munchies, access to all drawings and events, Chinese auctions, door prizes and more. Proceeds benefit WPPBF and is missions.
