Bethel Park
Warrant arrest: Kimberly Morngan, 43, of Pittsburgh turned herself in to police Aug. 19 stemming from an Aug. 12 incident in which she stole merchandise from Giant Eagle on Library Road.
Warrant arrest: Ashley Padgett, 28, of Pittsburgh and Sarah Borelli, 28, of Bethel Park, members of an organized theft ring who had been victimizing Kohl’s at South Hills Village Mall over a period of months, turned themselves in to police Aug. 15.
Cecil Township
Threats, loitering charges: Jennifer Rose Sundy, 34, of 223 Fourth St., McDonald, was charged Aug. 17 by Cecil police with terroristic threats, criminal mischief and loitering and prowling at night. She is accused of going to the Profio Road home of her nephew’s former girlfriend on Aug. 12 after allegedly threatening her and her new boyfriend. She also allegedly caused $2,448 damage to his pickup truck, police said. Sundy was with an unidentified man at the time, police said. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
Collier Township
Theft from vehicles: Collier Township police arrested Matthew Bertges, 18, no address provided, Aug. 18, who confessed to approximately 40 thefts from vehicles, two auto thefts, and a burglary that involved the theft of a firearm. He was charged with burglary, theft, theft from vehicles, firearms violations, loitering and prowling at night and narcotics violations. Also charged as a result of the investigation were Bertges’ mother, Jamie Bertges Fobes, 38, and Bertges’ stepfather, Jason Fobes, 40. Charges against the couple include criminal solicitation to commit false reports to law enforcement and criminal conspiracy to commit tampering with physical evidence and false reports to law enforcement, police said.
Mt. Lebanon
Drug arrest: Stefon Dixon, 23, of 50 E. Marshall Ave., Pittsburgh, was arrested Aug. 15 for driving without a license on McFarland Road, as well as for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Drug arrest: Jeanine Walsh, 26, of 830 Dornin St., Greensburg, was arrested Aug. 15 for DUI of a controlled substance and driving without a license and littering on Washington Road. She was also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Peters Township
Theft from vehicle: Police are investigating theft of credit cards from an unsecured vehicle at Valley Brook Country Club in McMurray. According to reports, the cards were taken Aug. 15 and more than $7,000 was charged.
Drinking arrest: Christopher Waseman, 19, of Glenn Oak Drive, Bethel Park, rang the front door bell of a home on Platinum Place in McMurray on Aug. 17 and proceeded to walk around the back of the house and sit down. Police said the owner of the home said Waseman was very polite, but visibly intoxicated. He is charged with under-age drinking, police said.
Car towed: Bernard Hoffman, 47, of Wilson Drive, Bethel Park, told police he was westbound Aug. 17 on Turkeyfoot Road in Venetia when his vehicle fishtailed, hit the hillside and rolled over on its side. No one was hurt, but the vehicle had to be towed, police said.
Retail theft: Police are investigating a retail theft that occurred Aug. 18 at Giant Eagle, 4007 Washington Road. According to reports, two female teenagers with backpacks came into the store and were loitering around the hair care and make-up aisles and left after making a small purchase. Store personnel checked the surveillance video and found the two girls had taken several items, police said.
Retail theft: Brandon Ogg, 32, of San Clemente, Calif., was arrested Aug. 20 for retail theft at Sports Clips, 4120 Washington Road. According to police, Ogg had concealed $35 in merchandise in his shorts while he was getting his hair cut.
Three-vehicle accident: No one was hurt, but one vehicle had to be towed in a three-vehicle accident that took place Aug. 19 at the intersection of West McMurray and Washington roads. According to police, Gretta D. Gillespie, 84, of Carlisle Drive, McDonald, was turning into PNC Bank when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Connor Schwartz, 17, of Stratford Drive, McMurray. Gillespie then struck a vehicle driven by Clare Rollinsin, 44, of East McMurray Road, McMurray, who was pulling out of the bank. After the impact, the vehicle driven by Schwartz rolled a short way down West McMurray Road and had to be towed, police said.
Disorderly conduct: Jeremy Martincic, 36, of Orchard Drive, Pittsburgh, was cited by police Aug. 19 for an altercation involving money in the parking lot of Pizzaz Italian Restaurant, 2850 Washington Road. Aug. 19. Police said Martincic tried to stop the vehicle of the person who allegedly owed him money. Both men traded punches, police said.
Medicine missing: A resident of the 100 block of Elm Grove Drive in McMurray told police Aug. 14 that two bottles of medicine were missing. There were no signs of forced entry, police said.
