‘Inspecting Carol’

For its final production of the 2015 Main Stage Season, Little Lake Theatre Company will serve up some slapdash holiday hilarity with Daniel Sullivan and The Seattle Repertory Theatre’s “Inspecting Carol,” a wildly funny Christmas comedy that was last performed on the Little Lake stage in 2000.

Directed by Jena Oberg, this laugh-out-loud spoof makes for an evening at the theatre that is anything but the average Christmas show.

“Inspecting Carol” is the story of a small, humble theatre company rehearsing for its umpteenth production of “A Christmas Carol.” The actor playing Ebenezer Scrooge is bored and wants to spice up the play by doing it in Spanish. The costumes are old and smelly, someone has carved his initials in the paper mache turkey, and Tiny Tim is no longer tiny! To make matters worse, funding for this struggling theatre company is on hold pending inspection. Without warning, a mysterious VIP shows up, prompting an outbreak of mishap after hilarious mishap ending in a dress rehearsal that guarantees the heartiest holiday belly laughs.

This show features an ensemble cast of familiar Little Lake faces, including Art DeConciliis, Mary Meyer, Bill Bennett, Marianne Shaffer, Jenny Malarkey, Ross Kobelak, Eric Leslie, Rick Bryant, Julia Paul and Jen Kopach, plus two actors new to Little Lake Main Stage shows, Max Andrae and Kevin Moore.
