Upper St. Clair approves 2016 budget
Upper St. Clair commissioners approved the municipality’s $20.46 million general fund budget for 2016.
The township’s real estate tax rate remains at 3.83 mils, the earned income tax rate remains at 0.8 percent, and the sewer usage multiplier remains at 2.25.
Board president Robert Orchowski said that the Community & Recreation center is operating in the black and paying for itself.
Commissioner Daniel Paoly commented that in addition to holding the line on taxes, the township has been able to maintain the roads and make improvements to the parks.
The board also authorized the township to enter into a consent order and agreement with the Allegheny County Health Department. The new consent order affects about 60 municipalities, including Upper St. Clair.
Other items approved at the board’s Dec. 7 meeting included the 2016 township engineer fee schedule, and approval of contracts for gasoline and diesel fuel and internal sectional repair and manhole rehabilitation project.
