Bethel Park
Transformer fire: Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Department responded to a transformer fire shortly after noon Dec. 14 at Giant Eagle Market District, 7000 Oxford Drive. Firefighters quickly switched off the smoking transformer and the store remained open by using its back-up generator, police said.
Retail theft: Paul Charles Lachoppa and Christopher William Smith, both of Pittsburgh, were arrested Dec. 18 and charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property stemming from an incident at South Hills Village Mall, police said.
Castle Shannon
Warrant and drug violations: Kimberly Stamoolis, 39, of 1716 Broadway Ave., Pittsburgh, was arrested Dec. 12 on Mt. Lebanon Boulevard on an outstanding warrant and drug violations, police said.
Retail theft: Belinda Fleck, 43, of 725 Shadycrest Road, Pittsburgh, was arrested Dec. 16 on Mt. Lebanon Boulevard. She is charged with retail theft, police said.
Theft from yard: Police are investigating a Dec. 15 report of a theft of a trailer, trail bikes and a quad runner from the front yard of a home on Riehl Drive. The value of the missing items was not disclosed, police said.
Cecil Township
Money taken: Steven Cheesman, 46 Stone Crest Road, told police $500 in cash was stolen from his coffee table while he wasn’t home Dec. 14.
Peters Township
Two vehicle accident: One car had to be towed, but no one was injured in a two-vehicle accident that took place Dec. 14 in the southbound lane of the 3800 block of Washington Road. According to police, a vehicle driven by Jesse Killosky, 28, of Country Hill Road, Finleyville, was stopped. The driver of the second car, Rachel Padilla, 32, of Main Street, Claysville, was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of Killosky’s car, which had to be towed from the scene.
Compound bow taken: Francis Gesselberti, 48, of McMurray told police a compound bow, a bow case and 12 arrows were taken from the bed of his pickup truck while it was parked at Kmart on Washington Road Dec. 18.
Two vehicle accident: Two cars had to be towed following an accident that occurred 8:46 p.m. Dec. 18 at the intersection of Venetia and McCombs roads in Venetia. According to reports, a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Link, 28, of Zionsville, was eastbound on Venetia Road, crossed over the lane of traffic and collided with a vehicle driven by Erin Karol, 32, of Canonsburg.
South Fayette
Mail stolen: Police are looking for a white woman in her 30s, with dark hair, who took a package off the front porch of a home in the 5800 block of Hickory Grade Road in Bridgeville on Dec. 17. The value of the package was $27, police said.
