Pair charged in Castle Shannon, Mt. Lebanon bank robberies
Two people have been charged in a pair of local bank robberies before and after Christmas.
Sean Greene, 43, of Pennsbury Village, and Amber Johnston, 39, of Brookline, were apprehended the evening of Dec. 26 following a pursuit by City of Pittsburgh Police that ended in a crash on Route 51 at Woodruff Street near the West End.
Allegheny County police charged Greene and Johnston with robbery and conspiracy in the robbery at 9:36 that morning of First National Bank, 600 Castle Shannon Blvd., Castle Shannon Borough. They also were charged in connection with the Dec. 22 robbery of the PNC Bank branch in the Virginia Manor Shops in Mt. Lebanon, police said.
In the Dec. 26 incident, Greene allegedly approached a teller, handed her a note and demanded money, and made reference to a weapon but did not display one, according to Castle Shannon police. He took the cash and fled across Cooke Lane toward the parking lot of Rite Aid, where he entered a vehicle and fled, police said.
At PNC on Dec. 22, he allegedly gave a teller a note demanding money, and there was no weapon, police said. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, got into a white sedan and headed toward the shopping plaza’s east exit.
No one was injured in either incident.
