PIHL All-Star Game Set For Feb. 8
The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League will hold its annual all-star event Feb. 8 at the Island Sports Center. Action will commence with the Division II game at 11 a.m. The Class A, and AA all-star contests follow at 1 and 3 p.m. with the featured match between the Class AAA standouts starting at 5 p.m.
Peters Township head coach Rick Tingle steers Team Black along with his assistants: Jim McVay from Bethel Park and Anthony Raco from Seneca Valley.
Peters Township players Adam Alavi, Max Boss and Chad Wyatt compete on the Black squad. Their teammates Brady Cochrane, Carter Ekberg and Kyle Madore head up Team Gold.
Bethel Park players competing for Team Black include Tyler Kruszewski and Antonio Esposito. Louie McLinden, Jacob Mueser and Tre Lowe will play for Team Gold.
While Austin Cassidy and Patrick Woomer of Upper St. Clair join the Team Black roster, Jack Gavett, Kasey Colcombe and Ray Conway, who will serve as an assistant coach, help headline the Team Gold unit.
All-stars from Mt. Lebanon include: (on the Black roster) Reed Farber and Joel Kishner as well as George Farrell (Gold list).
Zack Mansmann and Austin Tonkovich (Gold) as well as Luc Lavella and Colman Slain (Black) represent Canon-McMillan.
Ryan Kingerski, Matt Cole, Connor Williams, Dustin Davis, Joe Zappia, Jack Drury, Marcus McCall, Christian Louria, Joe Hubert and Clay Backman complete the Black roster.
Jake Tepe, Dom Zangaro, Erik Childster, Andrew Moscone, Alex Crilley, Connor Scott, Jonathan Fair, Noah Urben, Will Rahenkamp and Isaac Stephen round out the Gold team list.
The Western Conference will battle the Eastern Conference in the Class AA clash.
Bishop Canevin players are featured on the Western Conference roster. They include forwards: Blaine Adams, Alec Bosnic and Thomas Krivak along with defenders Alec Hnat and Jason Bilski.
Six local skaters spearhead the efforts of the Western Conference during the 1 p.m. clash against the Eastern Conference. Jordan Timmons and Spencer Barber hail from South Fayette while Jonathan Mead represents Keystone Oaks. In addition to Derek Podolak coaching the unit, South Park will field three players on the roster including Kirk Zandier, Tyler Gerhold and Tanner Orr.
Division II all-stars include Elliot Stevenson from USC as well as Mathew Michalowski and Connor Gielarowski, both from Peters Township. Stevenson and Michalowski will play for Team Black. Gielarowski will sport the colors of the Gold squad.
