BETHEL PARK
Accident: A three-vehicle accident occurred Jan. 25 at the corner of Broughton Road and Route 88. The driver of the first car, police said, suffered a medical emergency while approaching stopped traffic at the red light. One car had to be towed and one person had to be treated by EMS, police said.
Robbery: At 6:25 p.m. Jan. 27, at the PAT trolley stop behind Walgreen’s on Library Road, a woman reported her purse was stolen by a young white male as she got off the trolley. The investigation is ongoing.
Theft: Boonlau Small, 51, of Upper St. Clair was stopped by security at Giant Eagle Market District for retail theft, police said.
Arrest: Leslie Meeks, 25, of Bethel Park was arrested Jan. 30 at the Giant Eagle Market District for drug paraphernalia, police said.
BRIDGEVILLE
DUI: Police arrested Bradley Noon, 28, of Bridgeville for DUI following a motor vehicle crash in the 800 block of McLaughlin Road, where a utility pole was sheared in half and wires were down on the road, police said.
Pedestrian injured: A car driven by Andrew Dugas, 40, of Scott Twp. collided with a trailer on Oeschlager Way Jan. 19, causing an injury to a pedestrian. According to police, Dugas fled the scene on foot and was later located by police. He is charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, criminal conspiracy, accident involving personal injury, false reports and accident involving damage to unattended vehicle or property. Dugas’ girlfriend, Gabrielle Garner, 27, of Scott Township, is charged with obstructing administration of law or other government function, hindering apprehension of prosecution, false reports to law enforcement and criminal conspiracy, police said.
DUI: Sean Coyle, 43, of Upper St. Clair was arrested for DUI Jan. 24 following a crash into a parked car in the 800 block of Bank Street, police said.
Fleeing police: James Tyler Green, 19, of South Fayette Twp. was charged with DUI, fleeing or attempting to elude police, prohibited acts (drug paraphernalia), recklessly endangering another person, periods for requiring lighted lamps, driving without lights to avoid ID or apprehension and maximum speed limits, after attempting to elude police Jan. 25 in the 700 block of Washington Avenue, police said.
CASTLE SHANNON
Simple assault: Michael Herrera, 51, of 3763 Grant St., Pittsburgh, was arrested Jan. 25 for simple assault on Grant Street, police said.
Drug violations: Ronald Bassler, 18, of 943 Sleepy Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, was arrested Jan. 29 on Mt. Lebanon Boulevard for drug violations, police said.
CECIL TOWNSHIP
Attempted burglary: Police are investigating an attempted burglary at the In-N-Out grocery store, 3369 Millers Run Road. According to police, on Jan. 26 someone attempted to enter the store through the back door. Nothing was taken, police said.
Theft: A catalytic converter was reported stolen Jan. 28 from a tan Lexus RX 300 that was parked in the parking lot of Ross Auto Body, 389 Georgetown Road, Lawrence, police said. A new catalytic converter is valued at $1,700, police said.
Stolen minivan: Michelle Spalvieri, 46, of Chartiers Run Road, Canonsburg, was arrested Feb. 1 for driving a Chrysler minivan that had been reported stolen in June from Enterprise Rent-A-Car near the Pittsburgh International Airport. According to police, Spalvieri said the minivan had been rented by her boyfriend and she thought he was still paying for it. She is being charged with one count of receiving stolen property, police said.
MT. LEBANON
Accident: Police are investigating the cause of a four-car accident that occurred the morning of Jan. 31 near the intersection of Washington Road and Mt. Lebanon Boulevard. According to police, a car traveling southbound on Washington Road in the center lane failed to negotiate a curve after passing Mt. Lebanon Boulevard. The car then crossed the double yellow line and sideswiped a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The car that was traveling southbound then crashed head on into a third car that was northbound in the curb lane. After hitting that car, the southbound car struck another car that was traveling northbound. The driver of the first car sustained injuries to his back and was taken to UPMC Presbyterian. The driver and front seat passenger in the second car complained of injuries to their legs and back. They both were transported to UPMC Mercy. The driver of the third car suffered major trauma to the lower extremities, as well as head and back injuries. The driver was taken to Allegheny General Hospital. The driver of the fourth car was not injured. No names or conditions have been released by police. The accident remains under investigation, police said.
PETERS TOWNSHIP
Break in: A resident of Church Hill Road, Venetia, told police Jan. 31 that someone forced open the front door of his home while he was on vacation. Nothing was reported missing, police said.
DUI: Benjamin Bradley, 27, of Southampton Drive, Bethel Park, was arrested for DUI and driving at a high rate of speed Jan. 30 after crashing into a tree on Church Hill Road, police said.
UPPER ST. CLAIR
Credit theft: An elderly resident of Pinehaven Drive told police Jan. 28 there was $1,000 worth of unauthorized charges on her credit card from Pennsylvania, Ohio and Minnesota, police said.
Retail theft: Adora Gay, no age available, of Pittsburgh, was arrested after allegedly taking $700 worth of merchandise from the Finish Line at South Hills Village, police said.
