Retired Men meet

The Retired Men’s Luncheon Group of Pleasant Hills will meet at noon on July 16 in the Fellowship Hall of the Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church. Bill Henniger, retired executive vice president of Kennywood Entertainment and grandson of one of the founding partners, will tell the story of Kennywood. Cost of lunch is $7. Call the church office at 412-655-2000 by July 10 to be included in the lunch order.

Lunch/carnival

Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, will hold a Summer Seniors Lunch and Carnival at noon on July 14, featuring lunch, games and a presentation by Preferred Care at Home. Suggested donation is $5. Wheelchair accessible. To register, call 412-278-2658.

Senior luncheon

The Collier Township Parks and Recreation Department will host a Senior Luncheon and Movie at the Collier Community Center July 14. The program is for anyone 60+ years of age. Lunch is served at noon, followed by a movie. Cost for Collier Residents is $5 and non-Collier Residents is $6. For more information, call 724-693-0780.

PT Library programs

Peters Township Public Library offers “Downsizing Your Home, Not Your Lifestyle,” 7 p.m. July 14. The library will also host a World War II discussion group 11 a.m. July 29. For more information, call 724-941-9430.

Luncheon/movie

Register by July 17 for Mt. Lebanon Recreation’s senior luncheon and movie matinee, set for July 21 at the Mt. Lebanon Rec Center, 2nd floor, Room A. Check-in is at 10:30 a.m. at the Rec Office. A talk by The Pines lead rehabilitation therapist, “Fall Prevention,” will take place at 11 a.m., followed by a hot buffet lunch and 50/50 raffle at noon and a movie on the big screen at 1 p.m. The event, sponsored by The Pines of Mt. Lebanon and Family Hospice and Palliative Care, is for senior adults and their adult guests. Mt. Lebanon residency is not required. Fee of $6 per person is due by the deadline. Preregistration is required. Walk-ins are not encouraged and will only be accepted if space permits and a late fee will be charged. For more information, call 412-343-3409.

Day trip

The Prime Time Group of Central Assembly of God, Houston, will sponsor a “Window of Mysteries” day trip on July 11. The AAA-sponsored bus trip provides coffee and donuts and a catered lunch. Call 724-222-1658.

Exercise

Weight loss

Seniors for Safe Driving presents a variety of highway safety education programs for seniors 55 and older. The programs are certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and successful completion makes senior drivers eligible for a 5 percent discount on automobile insurance premiums.
