Mt. Lebanon dedicated an entire weekend to celebrating gardening as it hosted its 25th annual tour. Eight houses were featured, including the home of Barbara and Robert Logan, which was showcased during the inaugural event. “We were desperate to expand the library and our goal was to raise $10,000. We made all our goals,” said Barbara Logan. “All we wanted to do happened and the weather was perfect.” To thank sponsors and friends of the library, the annual event kicked off with a garden party held July 11. Musicians from the high school serenaded patrons in the courtyard of the library as they dined on appetizers and dessert treats. A silent auction and raffle were held. The tour highlighted seasonal plants favored by 14 gardeners, including the Logans, but Barbara refused to disclose her top pick. “There are so many,” she said. “Choosing a favorite is like trying to decide who your favorite child is.”
