Alan and Nancy Bedell of Mt. Lebanon announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Sara, to Michael Alec Averbach, son of Milo and Frani Averbach, also of Mt. Lebanon.

Courtney is the granddaughter of James and Mary Martin, James and Boyann Bedell, and the late Sara “Sally” Bedell. Mike is the grandson of S. Lewis and the late Marlene Averbach, and Anita and the late Harold Middleman.

The future bride is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Penn State Law. She is an associate at Reed Smith. Her fiance holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Penn State University. He is a test engineer at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory.

Courtney and Mike reside in Pittsburgh.

A September wedding is planned at the Children’s Museum.
