PICT Theatre presents ‘Sharon’s Grave’
Through Aug. 1
‘Sharon’s Grave’
Travel with PICT Classic Theatre to the wild southwest coast of Ireland for John B. Keane’s “Sharon’s Grave.” The play runs through Aug. 1 in the Henry Heymann Theatre inside the Stephen Foster Memorial.
Keane is loved for his portrayal of the superstitious, pagan-based ideals found in the more remote places in Ireland. He does this in “Sharon’s Grave” by placing a mystical legend of his own creation at the center of the realistic story about a Kerry woman in 1925 who is trying desperately to hold onto her land after the death of her father.
At the center of this incredibly funny, yet dark and a little bit horrifying play is a love story in a wild world of myth, family wars and huge hungers waiting to be satisfied, said director Aoife Spillane-Hinks.
A special package combining dinner at Lucca Ristorante, show-enhancing conversation and a seat at the performance, is available for the July 30 performance.
Tickets are $30-$54, with discounts available for those who qualify.
