Special event for ‘Deadheads’ at Hollywood Theater

‘The Grateful Dead Movie’
As The Grateful Dead perform its final shows in Chicago this July, the historic Hollywood Theater in Dormont announces a Pittsburgh tribute for all of the Deadheads.
A special screening of “The Grateful Dead Movie,” directed by Jerry Garcia, is set for June 12, along with a performance by Western Pennsylvania’s premiere Grateful Dead tribute band, FUNGUS.
The movie, which followed the band through its five-night stand at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, hit theaters in 1977, giving viewers an ideal look inside the famous rock band and its thousands of fans.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and grilled cheese and drinks will be available. The movie begins at 8 followed by the live concert from FUNGUS at 10:30.
