Christine Dee of Venetia graduated from Washington & Jefferson College with a bachelor of arts degree in cell & molecular biology. She plans to attend medical school at the Commonwealth Medical College.

Chelsea Wise of Upper St. Clair graduated from Washington & Jefferson College with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and Spanish. She was an active member of the Student Government Association, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, Green Club, and was the Yoga Club founder.

Samantha Rodriguez of Upper St. Clair was named to Susquehanna University’s dean’s list for the spring semester. A junior secondary education-mathmatics major, she is a graduate of Upper St. Clair High School and the daughter of Ron and Kathy Rodriguez.

Kristina King, daughter of Cathy and Paul King of Upper St. Clair, was recently awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Germany for 2015-2016. The grant is for an English teaching assistantship in the city of Hamburg. She was selected based on her academic and professional achievement, as well as demonstrated leadership potential. A 2010 graduate of Upper St. Clair High School and a 2014 summa cum laude and Phi Beta Cappa graduate of Boston University with a degree in international relations and a minor in German. she is currently pursuing a masters degree in public health at Boston University.

Sarah Buczkowski of Bethel Park was named to the dean’s list at Bowling Green State University. The daughter of Stan and Deanne Buczkowski is a 2014 graduate of Bethel Park Senior High School and is majoring in dietetics. She was a Sidney A. Ribeau President’s Leadership Academy 2014 Scholar; elected to the executive board as the 2015 Secretary of the Student Nutrition Association (SNA); serves as a peer educator and is certified to present informational seminars regarding health and wellness topics such as fitness, nutrition, alcohol and sex education; a member of the Residential Conduct Committee at BGSU; and is an Orientation Group Leader.

Brittany Rodgers of Mt. Lebanon has graduated Cum Laude from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a bachelor of science degree in industrial and systems engineering. At Virginia Tech, she was a dean’s list scholar; member of Alha Pi Mu Industrial and Systems Engineers Honors Society’ publicity chair, vice president and four-year member of the Dance Company; and four-year volunteer for various Ut Prosim community service events. The 2011 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and daughter of Greg and Mary Jo Rodgers has accepted a position as a systems engineer associate with Vencore Inc. in Chantilly, Va.

Andrew Irwin of McMurray was named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2015 semester at U.S. Military Academy West Point. He is a member of the Army’s intercollegiate men’s rugby team and is a Cadet Basic Training Company Commander. The 2012 Peters Township High School graduate and son of Lew and Marcia Irwin is a systems engineering major.

Anthony DeRubeis of Upper St. Clair has been named to the dean’s list at Point Park University for the Spring 2015 semester. The 2013 Upper St. Clair High School graduate and son of Thomas and Mary DeRubeis is majoring in national intelligence and security.

Dominique DeRubeis of Upper St. Clair has been named to the dean’s list at William Smith College for the Spring 2015 semester. The 2014 Shady Side Academy graduate and daughter of Thomas and Mary DeRubeis is majoring in computer science and economics. She is the treasurer for Days of Service, a student writer for the school’s Office of Communications and a PLEN Ambassador for women in the global economy.

Zachary Laufer of Bethel Park has been named to the dean’s list at Robert Morris University for the Spring 2015 semester. The 2014 graduate of Bethel Park High School and son of Karen and Glenn Laufer is majoring in communications.

Noah Simmons, son of Reid and the late Pearl Simmons, graduated from Yale Law School in May. He will join the firm of Paul Hastings in Washington, D.C., in September.

Alexis Evangelista, a graduate of Upper St. Clair High School, has been named to the dean’s list at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for the spring semester. A business marketing major, she resides in Upper St. Clair with her parents Ted and Barb.

Noah Simmons, son of Reid and the late Pearl Simmons of Upper St. Clair, graduated from Yale Law School on May 18. Noah will join the firm of Paul Hastings in Washington, D.C., in September.
