Mt. Lebanon Garden Party & Tour

For 24 years, gardeners of all skill levels, as well as people who do not garden but love other people’s creations, have delighted in visiting some of Mt. Lebanon’s finest gardens on a summer afternoon. Again this year, a total of eight private gardens will be open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. July 12, rain or shine.

The gardeners include Rania and Stephen Harris, Annie Laurie Foust, Barbara Lowenstein, Helen and Ed Palaschak, Diane Sunderline and Susan McShane, Kate English and Jay Blount, and one anonymous mystery garden. Tour goers will get the unique chance to visit one of the gardens featured on the first tour 25 years ago – the garden of Barbara and Robert Logan.

Activities at the Library feature the Annual Plant Sale with a wide selection of perennials at deeply discounted prices. The Library’s bookshop, the Book Cellar, will be open and all tour ticket holders will receive a $5 coupon good on any media purchase that day only. Be sure to visit the award-winning Library courtyard garden!

To get in the festive mood of garden tour weekend, plan on attending the Library Courtyard Garden Party 6-8 p.m. July 11. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, sweets, beer, wine, and live music. Proceeds from both the tour and party go directly to the support of Mt. Lebanon Public Library.
